if i ever win the lottery
here’s what i would buy:
more time with you.
you are the greatest treasure, the best ride, my companion and lover and comrade in everything
i’d spend that money to protect our health
and yeah, i’d use it to bring that long-awaited baby to us too
and then i’d use the rest of those winnings to spread good food, good health and joy
among the oh-so-many that need it in this world
and our friends too
maybe it is selfish to think first about what i need and want most
but being sure of you is the smartest thing i’ve ever done for me
there’s no word big and bold enough, strong and loud enough, soft and magical enough
to capture just how lucky and grateful and happy i am for every nanosecond i spend with you
